The Community Action Project is dedicated to electing candidates from underrepresented communities who champion public education and labor issues.

Hands from a multi-ethnic group held up into fists with the sun setting behind them.

For too long, there have been significant social and societal barriers that have excluded People of Color and queer communities from elected office. Organizations who contribute to and participate in candidate campaigns have added to these barriers by failing to support candidates from these communities. We must work to correct the lack of investment these communities have received from our institutions and amplify our political voices so our communities can get the resources and change they need to thrive.

Advancing public policy that builds thriving communities without leaving anyone behind requires electing local leaders from underrepresented communities who have the experience to understand how to best serve everyone. When equitably supported, leaders from underrepresented communities are successfully building the broader, and sustainable coalitions that not only win their elections, but flip their districts and pass legislation that provides the thriving future that working families deserve.

We aim to be a difference maker in these elections by making significant and strategic independent expenditure investments to help these candidates win and our communities thrive.
